国际英语新闻:Japanese passenger plane struck by lightning
OSAKA, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- A passenger plane of a Japanese low- cost carrier was struck by lightning in the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Fukuoka on Tuesday, but all passengers and crew members were safe, local press reported.
The Jetstar Japan's GK 127 flight bound for Fukuoka from Tokyo' s Narita Airport was struck by lightning at around 3:00 p.m. local time just before it was landing at Fukuoka Airport, the report said, adding that the plane landed safely after the incident and none of the 181 passengers and crew members was injured.
As the plane needs checks and possible repair work after the incident, the airline had to cancel its three flights to the Kansai Airport in western Japan, according to the report.
