国际英语新闻:Hillary Clinton officially discharged from hospital: State Department
WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been officially discharged from a New York hospital after she was treated for a blood clot, the State Department said on Wednesday.
"Secretary Clinton was discharged from the hospital this evening. Her medical team advised her that she is making good progress on all fronts, and they are confident she will make a full recovery," her spokesman Philippe Reines said in a statement.
Earlier the day, cnn footage showed that Clinton walked down the steps and entered a black van on her own, and left New York- Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. She was accompanied by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, her daughter Chelsea and an aide.
Clinton was hospitalized with a blood clot in her head on Sunday. Her doctors said that the blood clot was situated in a vein between her brain and skull behind the right ear.
However, they noted that the chief U.S. diplomat had not suffered any "stroke or neurological damage," and they predicted that she should make a "full recovery."
