CAIRO, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi revealed Thursday that Egypt and Turkey will establish a joint chamber of commerce amid plans to increase the trade volume between the two countries to 10 billion U.S. dollars within the coming few years.

The Egyptian president announced the plans at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul after they held a meeting in Cairo right after the conclusion of a two-day summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Morsi encouraged economic and business cooperation between Egypt and Turkey, urging Turkish businessmen to benefit from the incentives and facilitation provided by the Egyptian government for foreign investors.

The two presidents also talked about the Syrian crisis on the sidelines of the Islamic summit.

"We discussed the joint efforts of Cairo and Ankara to stop the Syrian bloodshed," Morsi said, stressing the discussions involving new ideas about communication between the quartet committee on Syria, comprising Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the other concerned parties.

For his part, Gul said he and the Egyptian and Iranian presidents have discussed the Syrian issue "openly and clearly," noting that the foreign ministers of the three countries have started working on relevant activities to help resolve the crisis.
