BOSTON, the United States, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Authorities said Friday night that they believe they have the Boston Marathon bombing suspect in custody, ending a nearly 20-hour manhunt.
The suspect, Dzhokar Tsarnaev, was believed to be wounded but alive.
"They got him. He's in custody," a state trooper told reporters gathering near the scene. Onlookers broke into applause.
Both Boston police and Mayor Thomas Menino have said in online posts that the suspect has been detained.
