国际英语新闻:Trial of Gaddafi's son postponed to Sept. 19
TRIPOLI, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Libya's Zintan Criminal Court decided Thursday to postpone to Sept. 19 the trial of Saif al- Islam, son of Libya's fallen lead Muammar Gaddafi, as the defense' s case was not complete yet.
The postponement came upon a request submitted by defense lawyers, one of whom was appointed by the court, so that they could review the documents of the case.
Saif al-Islam, one-time heir apparent of Gaddafi's rule, is charged with disclosure of confidential information that could undermine national security during a meeting with International Criminal Court (ICC) lawyers in June last year.
He is meanwhile wanted by the ICC on war crimes charges.
Saif al-Islam on Thursday briefly appeared at the court in Zintan, some 180 km west of the capital Tripoli. He told reporters that he is in good health.
He was arrested in November 2011 in Libya's southern desert by a militia group, a month after his father was killed in his home town of Sirte.
