JOHANNESBURG, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Mandla Mandela, Nelson Mandela's grandson, on Saturday said the condition of the former president of South Africa is improving very well.
"Madiba is recovering very well and looks good," Mandla said in the village in the Eastern Cape province where Mandela was born and raised in his early ages.
Mandela, 95 in next month, was sent to a Pretoria hospital for a serious condition of recurring lung infection on June 8, which is the nation hero's fourth hospital-stay in seven month.
It was the fourth confirmation of Mandela's doing well in hospital from government officials and his grandson. The Nobel laureate is still under intensive care in the Medi-clinic Heart Hospital.
On Wednesday, the first good news came with President Jacob Zuma beginning a speech with "Madiba is responding better to treatment from this morning."
Then on the same day, the grandson repeated the infromation in a statement, and the government made a statement the following day.
