国际英语新闻:Argentina's president "in very good mood" after surgery
BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez is "in a very good mood" following surgery Tuesday on a brain hematoma, and her recovery "is very favorable," chief of cabinet of ministers Juan Manuel Abal Medina said Wednesday.
The operation "went perfectly," he said, though Fernandez will be staying a few days at the Favaloro Foundation Hospital in Buenos Aires, where the operation to drain the brain hematoma on the right side of the head took place.
During an interview with a radio, Abal Medina said Fernandez's government team is very "solid" and "governing," but all decisions are "made by the president," even though Vice President Amado Boudou assumed the presidency for 30 days on Monday, as Fernandez was scheduled for surgery.
Fernandez' hematoma is believed to have been caused by a blow to the head she sustained during a fall in August. Doctors recommended surgery after detecting a "slight" weakness in the muscles of her left arm.
