国际英语新闻:Egypt's court adjourned Mubarak retrial to Nov. 16
CAIRO, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- An Egyptian court on Monday decided to adjourn the retrial of former President Hosni Mubarak to Nov. 16 after three-day closed-door sessions to hear testimony of several former top security officials, state-TV reported.
The 85-year-old ex-president was sentenced to life in prison last year over complicity of inciting violence and murdering demonstrators during the uprising against him in 2011, but an appeal court ordered a retrial earlier this year.
Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the retrial of Mubarak, his two sons, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and six of his aides due to large amounts of files related to the case.
Former intelligence chief Murad Muwafi and head of the national security authority testified in Saturday's hearing, and three other former security commanders gave testimony on Monday, official news agency MENA reported.
All the hearings were held in closed-door sessions for security reasons.
Mubarak was released from jail in August, but he is now kept under home arrest in Maadi Military Hospital in southern Cairo.
