国际英语新闻:8 killed, 58 injured in Pakistan bombing
ISLAMABAD, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed and 58 others injured in five separate bomb blasts in southwest and northwest Pakistan on Thursday, local media and officials said.
The latest attack happened on Thursday night when a bomb went off in Kachlak area of Quetta, the capital city of the country's southwest Balochistan Province, injuring five people including four women.
The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.
The deadliest blast of the day happened on early Thursday morning when some unknown militants targeted a vehicle of paramilitary troops, Frontier Corps (FC), in satellite town area of Quetta, killing at least five people and injuring over 20 others.
Police said that an estimated seven to eight kilogram of explosives fixed at a motorbike were detonated by a remote controlled device as soon as the FC vehicle passed near it.
Eight to ten vehicles, including an FC car, were damaged in the blast and several nearby houses and shops were also affected due to the impact of the explosion.
Shortly after the Quetta blast, a suicide bomber hit a custom office in the country's northwest tribal area of Khyber Agency, killing three people and injuring 25 others.
The blast occurred in Torkham area of Khyber Agency, a border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan, when vehicles coming from Afghanistan were being checked.
In another blast in Balochistan's Chaman District, four people were injured when a bomb was exploded by a remote control.
Police said the explosives were fixed at a motorbike and the injured people were passersby who were shifted to a nearby hospital by the rescue teams.
In a separate blast in Balochistan's Dera Bugti area, four women were injured and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
