国际英语新闻:Turkey reopens border gate after blast on Syrian side
ANKARA, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's southern Cilvegozu border gate reopened on Thursday just days after two vehicles exploded in Syria's Bab al-Hawa border crossing on Monday, semi-official Anadolu Agency reported.
Four Turkish border crossings were closed on Monday following clashes between al-Qaida-linked fighters and a rival Syrian rebel group near the Turkish frontier.
Two car bombs exploded on the Syrian side near the Cilvegozu border gate on Monday, leaving at least 15 people killed and about 50 others wounded.
A 35-km queue of trucks was lined on the Turkish side of the border after the border crossing was closed on Monday.
Turkish authorities have temporarily closed crossings to and from Syria along its border when fighting between opposition groups inside Syria pose a threat to Turkish citizens.
Turkey, once an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad but now a leading voice urging his ouster, shelters more than 700,000 Syrian refugees and has reportedly provided Syrian rebel army leaders with sanctuary.
