国际英语新闻:Rouhani says Iran army ready to respond to any threats
TEHRAN April 18 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Friday hailed the achievements and "might" of the Armed Forces as the country celebrated the national Army Day.
Addressing a ceremony to mark the event, Rouhani said that Iranian Armed Forces are prepared to respond to any "possible enemy threats determinedly."
Iran will never attack any country, but it will defend its borders "resolutely against any foreign aggression," he said, adding that "Iran's Armed Forces support stability in the region" and it is not threat to any of its regional neighbors.
All the regional states could rely on Iran Armed Forces for their security and independent policies, he said in the presence of high-ranking officials as well as senior military commanders at the ceremony.
Different units of Iranian army staged parades in the ceremony to show the latest Iranian military achievements. A host of missiles and missile launchers, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), fighter jets, choppers and radar systems were among the military equipment showcased at the ceremony.
Indigenous Arash long-rage radar system, to be used in electronic warfare, as well as the Ghaffar missile simulator system were latest products that were displayed in the parade.
The Iranian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday that the deterrent power and full defense preparedness of Iran's Armed Forces will safeguard the country's security and disappoint enemies, according to Press TV.
The statement also said that the Iranian Armed Forces will give a "crushing response" to any act of aggression against the country.
