国际英语新闻:At least 35 people killed in road accident in CAR
YAOUNDE, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least 35 people were killed and dozens were injured in a road accident in Central African Republic, an official from Health Ministry told Xinhua by phone on Saturday.
The official who didn't want to be named said the accident happened on Thursday as a overloaded truck fell into a ditch in Baoli, around 90 kilometers away from the capital city, Bangui.
The official said the driver of the truck which was on the way from Bangui to Cameroon is supposed to be responsible for the accident as he was overtaking another vehicle.
According to the official, most of the passengers were going to Cameroon to buy goods which would be sold in Central African Republic. The African peacekeeping force MISCA were providing escort for the truck.
The official indicated the number of death toll may increase as the situation of some injured people are critical.
