LONDON, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- A British military healthcare worker arrived back into Britain from Sierra Leone for Ebola monitoring, Public Health England (PHE) confirmed on Saturday.

PHE said the person, suffered a needle-stock injury when treating a person diagnosed with Ebola in Sierra Leone, was transferred by a Royal Air Force flight on Saturday.

PHE said the individual has been admitted by the Royal Free Hospital in London for clinical assessment. The person will be monitored for the remainder of their 21 incubation period.

The person has been exposed to the Ebola virus, hasn't been diagnosed with Ebola and do not have symptoms, according to PHE.

"Our thoughts are with this person, who has been courageous in helping those affected in West Africa, and in preventing the wider spread of Ebola," said Paul Cosford, PHE's director for health protection and medical director.

"We have strict, well-tested protocols in place for this eventuality and we are confident that all appropriate actions have been taken to support the healthcare worker concerned and to protect the health of other people," said Cosford.

PHE is responsible for monitoring the health of individuals returning to Britain from Ebola affected countries.

So far, there are two British people, who had worked in west Africa and infected with Ebola virus, have received treatment at the Royal Free Hospital.
