国际英语新闻:1 in 4 U.S. voters think Trump's dealings with Russia illegal during campaign: poll
WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- One in four U.S. voters think President Donald Trump acted illegally regarding his presidential campaign's alleged involvement with Russia, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday.
Another 37 percent of respondents said Trump acted unethically but not illegally, while 35 percent said the president did nothing wrong regarding Russia, the poll finds.
Among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, 69 percent said they believed Trump did nothing wrong regarding Russia, while just 4 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents agreed with them.
The poll comes amid the ongoing Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigation into alleged Russian election interference and possible relations between the Trump campaign and Moscow.
The Gallup poll was conducted between Aug. 2 and 6 via telephone interviews among 1,017 people.
