国际英语新闻:5 killed in alleged U.S. drone attack in NW Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least five killed in an alleged U.S. drone attack in northwestern Pakistan area late Monday, according to local reports, adding that the target was a militant house.
The reports said that the attack took place in Kurram Agency in northwestern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan and four or six missiles were fired in the attack. Some others were reportedly injured in the attack.
A militant commander and four of his companions reportedly belonged to Afghan Taliban were killed in the attack.
Local administration in the agency is investigating the attack, said the reports, but adding that it is still unclear that the attack is in Pakistan or in the other side of the border in Afghanistan.
It was the second drone attack launched by the United States since U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled his policies toward Afghanistan and South Asia in August. A similar attack killed three people and injured two in September.
The drone strike came only days after Pakistan rescued a family of U.S.-Canadian hostages in the agency on the U.S.-shared intelligence.
