国际英语新闻:Kuwait, Ukraine ink deals to boost bilateral ties
KUWAIT CITY, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait and Ukraine on Sunday sealed deals on a number of agreements in various fields, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said Sunday.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and visiting Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko.
The two sides signed an agreement for military cooperation, in which the Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with his Ukrainian counterpart Stepan Poltorak, put their names on the agreement.
Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on inter-sport cooperation was among the agreements signed, KUNA said.
Another MoU on cooperation in the field of science was finalized between Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences.
Petro Poroshenko is paying a state visit in Kuwait on March 18-19.
