国际英语新闻:Turkey slams European observation mission's interim report on elections
ANKARA, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Foreign Ministry on Friday denounced the interim report of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on the upcoming elections in Turkey.
The Turkish government has carefully reviewed the interim report on the upcoming June 24 Turkish elections released Friday by the OSCE Election Observation Mission, the ministry's spokesman Hami Aksoy was quoted by the Anadolu Agency as saying in a statement.
Aksoy underlined that the upcoming elections in Turkey are held in line with democratic standards.
"However, it is seen that the interim report includes certain comments, even of political nature, that do not coincide with reality," he said.
"Our cooperation based on complete transparency with the OSCE mission will continue. It is a universal and fundamental principle that election observation missions work in an unbiased and objective manner," Aksoy added.
The spokesman said that all observer missions in Turkey are expected to carry out their functions accordingly.
Eight international organizations, including OSCE, will observe Turkey's presidential and general elections on June 24, the Anadolu report said.
