国际英语新闻:Iran says Pakistani nationals involved in suicide attack on guards
TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- A senior Iranian military commander said Tuesday that the security forces have arrested two Pakistani nationals as the suspects linked to the recent terrorist attack in southeastern Iran.
"The suicide bomber and two elements of the terrorist team targeting IRGC forces were Pakistanis," Commander of the Ground Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Mohammad Pakpour, was quoted as saying by Press TV.
Pakpour identified the suicide bomber as Hafiz Mohammad Ali.
Iran has blamed Pakistan for sheltering anti-Iran militants in its territory near the border area.
Iran has also accused Saudi Arabia and Israel's intelligence agencies of inciting Iran's Sunni rebels in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan into violence.
Last Wednesday, in the terrorist attack against the IRGC forces in Sistan and Baluchestan province, bordering Pakistan, 27 were killed and 13 others were injured.
Reportedly, the Sunni group Jaish al-Adl, which claims to be fighting for the rights of Iranian Sunni Baluch minority, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
On Tuesday, Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi pledged that a harsh response will be delivered to the perpetrators of the terrorist attack.
