国际英语新闻:Italy committed to supporting citizens in southern Lebanon
BEIRUT, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The commander of the western sector of the UNIFIL general Bruno Bishota assured Sunday that Italy is committed to its support for citizens in southern Lebanon by allocating 1.3 million euros (1.47 U.S. million dollars), local media reported.
"The money will be spent for the implementation of services projects for the local community within the area of operation of the Italian Battalion in the south," Bishota was quoted as saying by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.
His remarks came during a celebration held to honor heads of municipalities in the western sector in Shamaa.
Bishota said that Italy will exert all possible efforts to support people in this area.
