国际英语新闻:6.0-magnitude quake strikes off Indonesia's Bali Island, no tsunami alert issued

JAKARTA, July 16 (Xinhua) -- A 6.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Indonesia's tourism center of Bali Island earlier Tuesday, but was not likely to trigger a tsunami, the meteorology and geophysics agency said here.
The quake jolted at 7:18 a.m. Jakarta time (0018 GMT) with epicenter at 83 km southwest of the island and with the depth at 68 km under sea bed, official in charge at the agency Wahyu Kurniawan said.
"We did not issue a tsunami warning, as this quake is not potential to trigger big waves," he told Xinhua over phone.
