国际英语新闻:COVID-19 cases growth on a decline in India, says Minister of Health official
NEW DELHI, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The incidence of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in India is decreasing as it has been observed during the past one week that the numbers are doubling in 6.2 days compared to 3 days a week ago, said an official of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.
At the regular COVID-19 briefing this evening, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Heath Lav Agarwal told media persons that a decline of 40 percent was recorded in the growth of COVID-19 cases across the country.
According to him, 23 new deaths were reported during the 24 hours even as 1,007 new cases were recorded. Till date as many as 1,749 cases had been fully cured, which was over 13 percent of all the cases detected so far.
He also said that a target had been set to manufacture and deliver one million Rapid Testing Kits across the country by next month. There were as many as 1,919 COVID-19 dedicated hospitals across the country with 173,000 isolation beds capacity.
