国际英语新闻:Tunisia to coexist with coronavirus by taking preventive measures: PM
TUNIS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi on Saturday said the country will coexist with coronavirus by applying a series of preventive measures, according to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
During his visit to the Beni M'tir tourism unit in Jendouba province, Mechichi said that Tunisia can not return to complete lockdown due to the economic and social situation.
The government is taking the necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus by providing a greater number of hospital beds, increasing the number of lab tests and continuing to raise awareness of the importance of preventive measures, he said.
On Saturday, Tunisia reported its highest daily new coronavirus cases since the outbreak in the country on March 2, by confirming 1,087 new COVID-19 infections and 11 new deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 14,392 and death toll to 191.
