国际英语新闻:Cambodia to provide 2 mln face masks, medical supplies to Laos to help fight COVID-19
PHNOM PENH, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on Saturday that he decided to donate two million face masks and other medical supplies to neighboring Laos to help it combat COVID-19.
"Ministry of Health Secretary of State Youk Sambath will fly the materials to Laos on Monday next week," he was quoted as saying by a Fresh News report.
The Cambodian prime minister said the decision was made after Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith phoned him to ask about his health.
Hun Sen, who has been in a 14-day self-quarantine since Nov. 4, a day after his meeting with COVID-19-infected visiting Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, said he was negative for the virus in his third test conducted on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Youk Sambath said that some 1,195 people, who had direct and indirect connections with Szijjarto's visit on Nov. 3, were negative for the virus in their third tests on Saturday.
The Southeast Asian nation has so far recorded a total of 302 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Health said, adding that none have died and 289 have recovered from the pandemic.
