国际英语新闻:Tunisian PM orders urgent intervention to impose rule of law
TUNIS, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi ordered to "take immediate action to impose the rule of law in all regions of the country," said a government statement on Wednesday.
The instructions were issued following an emergency meeting with senior officials.
Mechichi stressed the need to unblock roads and restart production sites, the closure of which has led to difficulties of supply in several areas.
The gas bottle filling plant of the Tunisian Chemical Group in Gabes in southeastern Tunisia, in particular, caused a supply crisis covering many regions of the country.
On Nov. 30, Tunisian President Kais Saied met with Noureddine Taboubi, secretary general of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), the largest trade union organization in the country.
The head of the workers' center presented an initiative, which includes concrete proposals to overcome the crisis with political, economic and social axes.
