欧美文化:UN, partners continue providing relief to people in NW Syria
UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- UN humanitarians on Tuesday said the world body is working with partners to continue providing essential supplies and services to people in the northwest of Syria.
Earlier Tuesday, 17 trucks carrying shelter and other humanitarian assistance from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) crossed into northwest Syria from Türkiye through the Bab al-Salam crossing, said the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Additional truck movements and UN staff missions are planned through the Bab al-Salam and al-Ra'ee crossings in the coming days, the office said in a statement.
Also on Tuesday, OCHA and other UN agencies carried out separate missions to Azaz, a city some 30 kilometers north of Aleppo.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and OCHA carried out monitoring and assessment activities, while IOM provided first aid training to local aid workers, according to OCHA.
