中国在艾滋病防治加强与国际合作

China is continuing its efforts in the global fight against HIV & AIDS. The Ministry of Health recently held a joint conference with the United Nations Program on HIV & AIDS, or UNAIDS.
中国正继续为全球抗击艾滋病病毒和艾滋病而努力。最近，卫生部与联合国艾滋病规划署（UNAIDS）举行联席会议。

China’s efforts in controlling the spread of the disease in recent years were given recognition, and the country’s Health Minister vowed to further promote international cooperation on the matter.
中国这些年来为控制该疾病所做的努力得到认可，国家卫生部部长誓言要进一步加强在这个问题上的国际合作。

Since the 1980’s, China has seen over 164,000 registered HIV&AIDS patients and 86,000 deaths attributed to the disease.
自上世纪80年代以来，中国已登记的艾滋病病毒感染者和病人超过16.4万例，死亡8.6万例。

Minister of Health, Chen Zhu, revealed the figures at the joint conference with the UNAIDS’ Theme Group in China.
卫生部部长陈竺在与联合国艾滋病规划署中国专题小组的联席会议上公布了这些数字。

According to Chen, even though the general HIV and AIDS infection rates in China can’t be considered high, certain regions in the country and groups of people are facing heightened risks of contracting the disease.
据陈竺称，尽管从总体上看中国艾滋病的感染率不算高，但是中国局部地区和特定人群面临着感染该疾病的高风险。

Research conducted by the ministry shows that sex has become the main mechanism of transfer for HIV and AIDS in China.
由卫生部进行的调查显示，性行为成为中国艾滋病病毒和艾滋病传播的主要途径。

The total budget for AIDS prevention at the central and local government levels has increased from 1.46 billion Yuan in 2006 to 3.06 last year. According to the Ministry, in general, HIV & AIDS infection in China has slowed down in recent years, and the patient mortality rate has dropped as well thanks to improved treatment methods.
中央和地方各级政府投入到艾滋病防治的总经费从2006年的14.6亿元提高到去年的30.6亿元。据卫生部报道，从总体上看，近年来，中国的艾滋病病毒和艾滋病感染速度减缓，由于治疗方法的提高，病人的死亡率也下降了。

UNAIDS recognized China’s progress in the fight against HIV & AIDS, but it also pointed out areas where more efforts are needed, such as HIV&AIDS testing and the percentage of patients receiving treatment.
联合国艾滋病规划署称赞中国在抗击艾滋病病毒和艾滋病工作所取得的进展，但是也指出，在像HIV和AIDS测试和接受治疗病人的比例等方面需要更多的努力。
