庆祝国际志愿者日

The second annual Volunteering Expo has been held at Beijing Normal University. The expo hopes to inspire more people to play their part in working towards China’s social development. It’s no coincidence that Sunday’s expo comes just ahead of International Volunteers’ Day.
第二届年度志愿服务博览会在北京师范大学举行。博览会希望鼓励更多人参与到中国社会发展的工作中来。星期天的博览会在国际志愿者日之前举办并不是巧合。

Celebration, Inspiration and Action - The 2011 volunteering Expo saw debate over the opportunities and challenges of the voluntary sector, while also providing a forum for all manner of volunteer organizations to exhibit their programs.
欢庆、激情、志愿同性——2011年的志愿服务博览会见证了关于志愿服务领域机遇与挑战的辩论，同时也为各种志愿服务组织提供了一个展示他们计划的论坛。

2011 is the tenth anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers, and is witnessing people from all around the globe joining forces to promote volunteerism.
2011年是国际义工年的10周年纪念，它见证了全球的人们合力促进志愿者服务。

The theme for the forum this year is Partnerships for Development, which is about inspiring cooperation among different volunteering organizations.
今年论坛主题是发展的合作伙伴，它是关于鼓励不同的志愿者服务组织的合作。

Simon Brown, general manager of Voluntary Service Overseas, said, “All of those organizations are going to make a tremendous volunteering platform for Chinese people to volunteer in China but also overseas from China.”
海外志愿服务社的总经理西蒙．布朗表示：“所有那些组织都将为中国人在海内外的志愿服务在创造一个巨大的志愿服务平台。

By the year 2015, it’s estimated that more than 40 million people in China will be regularly doing volunteer work. There are already more non-government volunteer organizations than ever before. One such group is Blue Sky Rescue Team. In April, two old men were lost for 3 days on Yunmeng Mountain, where families were worried so they called the group’s hotline.
据估计，到2015年，中国将有4000多万人定期做义工。和以往相比，现在已经有更多的非政府志愿者服务组织。蓝图救援队就是一个这样的团体。四月份，两位老人在云蒙山失踪三天，他们的家人很担心，所以他们拨通了救援队的热线。

Li Feng, Beijing Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team, said, “We sent 7 teams and searched 24 hours, finally we found the two old men were still alive. We were so pleased and this is our value.”
北京红十字蓝天救援队的Li Feng表示：“我们派了7个小组搜寻了24小时，最后我们发现两位老人还活着。我们非常高兴，这是我们的价值。”

Rather than just showing their pity, people seek to contribute their intelligence, techniques and specialties. Volunteers from Beijing Normal University have been helping the blind masseurs once a week for several years.
不仅是表示他们的同情，人们还设法奉献他们的智慧、技术和专长。几年来，北京师范大学的志愿者每周都来帮助盲人按摩师一次。

Lin Xiao, a volunteer of Baige Youth Volunteers Assoc., said, “When we teach our blind friends English and computer skills they are very happy, and we feel the same way. They can learn something that they really need.”
白鸽青年志愿者协会的Lin Xiao表示：“当我们教盲人朋友英语和电脑技术时，他们都非常高兴，我们也有同感。他们可以学到一些他们真正需要的东西。”

Volunteering is an effective way to give people the opportunity to participate in building a better society.
志愿服务是一种赋予人们机会参与到更美好社会建设中来的有效途径。
