中国新年的舞龙表演

For Chinese people, dragons are believed to bring good luck. And dragon dancing is a highlight of Chinese New Year celebrations. As the Year of the Dragon is only days away, people around China are gearing up, trying to make their dragon dances something out of the ordinary.
对中国人而言，龙被认为是可以带来好运。舞龙是庆祝中国新年的一个精彩部分。还有几天就是龙年了，中国各地的人们正在做准备，努力让他们的舞龙变得不同寻常。

Tan Xiaoming from Changxing County in Zhejiang Province has been performing dragon dances for more than 30 years. As a child, he learned how to make the dragon from his father. This year, Tan is planning to make a special dragon for the New Year celebration.
浙江省长兴县的Tan Xiaoming舞龙已经舞了30多年了。小时候他就跟父亲学习制作龙。今年，Tan打算为新年庆祝仪式制作一条特别的龙。

Tan says that there are many kinds of dragons in China, but his one is unique. The body of the dragon consists of a series of lotus blossoms. They can be separated or assembled in less than ten seconds.
Tan表示，中国有很多种龙，但是他的龙是独一无二的。龙身由一系列莲花组成。它们可以在10秒钟内分开或组合。

Tan Xiaoming said, "My dragon consists of flowers, so it’s not so ferocious but elegant. This lotus-dragon is more beautiful."
Tan Xiaoming称：“我的龙是由花组成的，所以它优雅而不凶暴。这条莲花龙更加漂亮。”

In order to make the dragon dance more vivid, Tan also changed the pearl into a rolling one.
为了使龙舞更加生动，Tan还将珍珠变成滚动的。

Tan Xiaoming said, "This pearl can be rolled, so I think it will be more impressive for the audiences."
Tan Xiaoming表示：“这个珍珠可以滚动，所以我认为它会给观众留下更深刻的印象。”

Every year during the Spring Festival, Tan joins the dragon dance team and gives performances in the county. He hopes that this newly-made lotus-dragon will deliver his best wishes to the village folk.
每年春节期间，Tan都加入舞龙队，在县里表演。他希望这条新作的莲花龙能将他最美好的祝福送给村民。

While you may be familiar with Tan’s traditional style of dragon dance, you probably have not seen an underwater performance. At Ocean Park in the city of Hangzhou, a five meter long dragon is swimming at the bottom of the sea, and attracting a lot of tourists.
你可能熟悉Tan的传统舞龙方式，但你可能没有见过水下表演。在杭州市海洋公园，一条五米长的龙正在海底游泳，吸引了很多游客。

Held by four divers and surrounded by fish, the dragon is like the "king of the sea," which is a well-know character in Chinese mythology. The park has also prepared more activities to celebrate the New Year, starting from January 23rd and lasting until February 6th.
这条龙有四名潜水员举着，被鱼包围着，就像中国神话中的知名人物“海神”。为了庆祝新年，公园也准备了更多的活动，从1月23日一直持续到2月6日。
