国家最高科学技术奖在京颁发

Two Chinese scientists, physicist Xie Jialin and architect Wu Liangyong, have won China's top science-and-technology award. President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and other senior officials attended the ceremony in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
物理学家谢家麟和建筑师吴良镛这两位中国科学家获得中国最高科技奖。胡主席、温总理和其它高级官员参加了在北京人民大会堂举行的颁奖仪式。

91-year-old Xie Jialin has made outstanding achievements in the fields of accelerator physics, accelerator technology and free electron laser. 89-year-old Wu Liangyong committed himself to city planning, architectural design, landscape planning, as well as teaching and scientific research. China has been offering annual awards to elite scientists and researchers since 2000.
