中国重新对个人开放cn域名注册

China has started again to allow individuals to register the domain names ".cn" and ".Zhong Guo" in Chinese characters, the China Internet Network Information Center said.

Officials from the cnnIC say they expect individuals to become the major driver for the development of websites in China, and the new move will help individual online businesses to build their own brands. cnnIC stopped accepting individual applications for the domain names in December 2009, as people began registering sites for illegal purposes.
