As part of our examination of the issue of Chinese adoptions around the world, we’re telling the story of one American family who have adopted seven Chinese children. Toni and Bob Benton live in the US state of Maryland.

They never intended to take on so many orphans. But they have found fulfilment in providing a loving home in the US, maintaining strong cultural links with the original homeland, in order to maintain their sense of Chinese identity.
