伦敦已为奥运做好准备
London Mayor Boris Johnson says the British capital is building-up to its big day. All eyes will be on his city when the opening ceremony begins Friday night.
According to the Mayor, the venues are safe and the transport system is bearing up. That’s despite a week that put the spotlight on predicted travel chaos and gaps in security.
Athletes have been getting used to their new surroundings and taking time to relax before the Games begin, and more than 500-thousand people are expected to watch the Olympic flame as its begins its journey through London’s public streets. The Games are supposed to carry a substantial long-term economic impact for Great Britain.
The managing director for Olympic Legacy at UK Trade and Investment thinks the event will attract 9.4 billion dollars in investment by 2016.
