中国姑娘于文霞“世界小姐”夺冠

Miss China, Yu Wenxia, wins the Miss World crown for 2012, defeating more than 100 other hopefuls from across the globe.

It’s the second time a contestant from China has been awarded the title. Last year’s Miss World, Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela, handed over her crown to Yu at a glittering ceremony held on Saturday. 23-year-old Yu Wenxia is a music student who wants to become a music teacher. Sophie Moulds from Wales was runner-up, while Australia’s Jessica Kahawaty came third.

Miss China’s triumph on home soil took place in the unlikely location of Ordos, a mining city on the edge of the Gobi desert.
