The air cooling technology will not only be in the stadiums, but also will be for outdoor areas during the Qatar World Cup 20-22, said a spokesman for the organisers at the Aspire4Sport conference on Thursday in Doha.

At the moment, the Committee are finalising the discussions with FIFA regarding the construction schedule, and the masterplan of the stadiums. Construction work on their stadiums will begin in early 20-13. Al Khater said earlier this week that unless one of the world’s leading football administrators makes a complaint, they assume the tournament will take place in summer. Al Khater believes that it won’t be a challenge to hold the World Cup during the summer months.

Nasser Al Khater, director of Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, said,"Yes we are considering the cooling technology as a means to creating some areas that are going to be cold using renewable energy so outdoor areas and fan zones and areas outside the stadium and the stadium itself. However, look, I don’t think and I don’t believe it is going to be that big of challenge. I mean at the end of the day, you go to countries where the world cup is staged and you have other countries that also have similar types of temperatures and you know, they have and they host successful world cups ."
