中欧领导人会面讨论双边关系

The 16th China-EU summit is set to be held in Beijing today. The issues on bilateral investment, human rights, urbanization are expected to be discussed at the meeting. The summit comes as the two sides celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and the President of European Commission, Jose Barroso, ahead of the summit.

Premier Li Keqiang will chair the summit with European leaders. It has become an important dialogue mechanism between the two sides. This year’s meeting is the first one since the new leadership took office.

Analysts say leaders will summarize bilateral ties in the past and set the tone for relations over the next decade.
