中国手机游戏行业迎来增长

China’s mobile game sector is seeing considerable growth as online games become more and more popular among smartphone users. Industry insiders say the phenomenon is even more prominent during the holidays.

Catering to the ever growing demands of Chinese consumers, domestic game programmers are now offering various versions of games, especially those that tap into the holiday spirit.

A mobile game studio earlier this year, designed a package of games, which allowed users to send their friends various items and options during the Spring Festival holiday.

Other game programmers are developing board and card games on smartphones. These games have proved popular, due to the social interaction the games encourage.

Meanwhile, China’s game industry was reported to be valued at 13.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, rising 38 percent year on year. The mobile gaming market has been especially hot, seeing the largest growth in 2013 after rising 246.9 percent from the previous year.

And after December’s announcement that China will soon begin issuing 4G licenses, more people are expected to play mobile games, as network speeds get a much needed boost.
