球王贝利语言2014巴西世界杯
Pele has given his tip to be world champions in 2014, and although you might have expected the football legend to back Brazil, he didn't. Instead the 73-year-old went for Germany and Spain as the two teams to beat.
He made his comments at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development's launch of the Portuguese version of the "Better Life Index in Brazil."
Pele says he thinks Neymar and Fred, who are in Brazil's squad, can be among the stars. But on this occasion he didn't say exactly how he thought his country would do, perhaps he doesn't want to jinx them.
The three-time World Cup winner put forward the defending champions as one of those Brazil need to watch out for.
However, the man commonly described as the world's best-ever player is notoriously IN-accurate in predicting World Cup hopefuls, which might not come as good news to the Spaniards, or the Germans.
"The two teams that are the best, in my view, are Germany and Spain. Spain because it has a well-assembled team that has been playing together for eight years, and Germany because it is playing really well. Now one also has to respect England and Italy, because the World Cup is a box of surprises, and from Latin America we can't forget about Argentina -- that is a team that always aims to play in the Final -- and Chile could spring a surprise." said Pele, Brazil Legend.
