著名旅游景点凤凰古镇因暴雨关闭

In flood-ravaged Hunan Province, the ancient city of Fenghuang’s water levels have fallen as rains have eased. But the popular tourist spot remains closed because of to safety concerns.

Continuous rain has flooded the historic town for the past few days and forced the suspension of train operations on Wednesday. More than 120,000 residents and tourists have been evacuated, and more than 4,000 shops in the town have been affected.

Floods have also destroyed a bridge and disrupted local power supplies. Preliminary estimates say floods may bring huge economic losses to the city.
