狂风暴雨席卷中国南方
On Tuesday Typhoon Kalmaegi swept through China’s southern regions of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan, packing strong gales and heavy rainfall on its route.
In China’s southernmost island province of Hainan, the typhoon killed two, with more than 440,000 affected. According to the local civil authority, direct economic loss totalled 35 million US dollars in Hainan alone. More than a million over in Guangdong were affected.
For its neighbour the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 25,000 had to be evacuated amongst the 290,000 affected. In the Guangxi capital of Nanning, two women were killed by a falling tree.
China’s aviation authorities said Tuesday that more than 200 flights have been cancelled due to Kalmaegi across the region.
