中国南方降水量达峰值

The southern China continues to battle rainfall. According to meteorological authorities on Tuesday the rainfall reached its peak level in recent days. 

In Jiangsu's capital city of Nanjing, 23 passengers were trapped in a bus while it passed through a railway culvert under a viaduct... where the water reached 2 meters high.

Fortunately, all the passengers were rescued. In Hunan province, two people are reportedly dead, and five still missing due to downpours. In neighbouring Hubei province, floods have destroyed some houses and bridges in Shicheng county, affecting 500 to 600 villagers.

Weather authorities predict rainfall will continue in the southern region on Thursday. In the north-east and north region, thunderstorms and hail are expected.
