中央农村工作会议 深化农村改革
The Central Rural Work Conference has opened, with a focus on accelerating the modernization of China's rural agriculture reform.
The two-day conference is expected to recap agriculture and rural infrastructure work in 2014, and set work arrangement and guidance for 2015. Earlier this month, the central government listed accelerating the transformation of agricultural development as one of the five tasks for next five years.
The conference will address issues like increasing farmers' income, improving the rural land management rights transfer policies, and agricultural subsidies. Also on the agenda is next year’s Number One Central Document, which sets out government policy.
For the past eleven years, the document has focused on agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Experts say 2015's document is very likely to do the same.
"This year's conference will continue to focus on rural reform and accelerating agricultural modernization. These will be the main tasks of our reform for now and the years to come. And we need continuous efforts to achieve them. The central government has to ensure the effective implementation of current policies and formulate new policies as the situation changes," says Han Jun, deputy director of Central Financial Work Leading Group Office.
