泰国军方否认限制英拉出行
Thailand's former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been denied permission to travel overseas. A spokesman for the country's military government said this is to ensure she is in the country to face criminal charges later this month.
Yingluck could face a 10-year jail term over corruption allegations in a rice subsidy scheme, which cost the government billions of dollars. She was banned from politics for five years following her impeachment last month. She denied the charges. Yingluck had asked for permission to leave the country until the 22nd of February. Her lawyer said it was not necessary for her to appear in court for at least two months, and if the military government used her case to deny her travel rights, that would be a violation of her basic rights.
