IMF首席经济学家退休

The International Monetary Fund said on Thursday its chief economist Olivier Blanchard is retiring from the organization.

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said Blanchard enhanced the Fund's reputation in economic thought, by leading its research department and flagship publication, the World Economic Outlook.

After leaving the IMF, Blanchard will go to the Peterson Institute for International Economics to work as a senior fellow. He previously taught at Harvard and MIT.

The IMF has said that the search for  Blanchard's replacement would begin immediately.
