哥伦比亚山体滑坡死亡人数达到78
Following the landslide in Colombia, the death toll now stands at 78.
Earlier this week, Colombian rescuers used search dogs to find survivors. Relief agencies in Salgar town are still carrying out a search and rescue mission, in the hopes of finding people still missing.
The authority said in a statement that the homes of more than 500 people have been destroyed or damaged. Hundreds of victims have gathered at shelters set up by the authorities, where they are receiving emergency aid.
Meanwhile, a census is being carried out by the National Unit for Disaster Management.
The census will help the government to start assigning help to families in the form of housing benefits and building new houses, as Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos promised to the victims on Monday.
