美国空袭击毙基地组织核心人物

The US Department of Defense says a longtime al-Qaida operative has been killed in US airstrike in northern Syria. The Pentagon says Muhsin Al-Fadhli was traveling in a vehicle on July 8th near Sarmada, west of Aleppo, at the time.

Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis, said Al-Fadhli was the leader of a network of veteran al-Qaida operatives, sometimes called the Khorasan Group. The group are tasked with plotting external attacks against the US and its allies. 

In October 2002, Al-Fadhli was involved in attacks against US Marines on Faylaka Island in Kuwait, and against the French ship MV Limburg.
