China is not only one of the UN's founding members, but also one of the first countries to sign the UN charter. It is also the permanent member state of the Security Council.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Baodong told CCTV that China plays an active role in supporting and contributing to the UN's work.

"We will continue to encourage the international community to support the multilateral society, to strengthen the role of the United Nations, to maintain the international system and order with the focus on the UN charter, to build the new type of international relations based on win-win cooperation as a core," he said.
