奥运火炬抵达历史名城欧鲁普雷图
In South America, the ongoing torch relay for the Rio Olympics. The flame was lit last month in the ancient birth place of the Games, and now it has reached another historic city.
And that is a look at the colonial mining town of Ouro Preto, which was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its striking Baroque architecture set high in the mountains.
The torch was met by an excited crowd of children, adults, and drummers, welcoming the Olympic troupe to the central state of Minas Gerais.
The three-month relay across Brazil will end with the Opening Ceremony August 5th at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The flame will travel through more than 300 cities, and more than 12-thousand torchbearers will take part in the trek.
