中国的生态系统变得更健康
Researchers from China and the US have found that China's ecosystems have become healthier. A paper published in the Wall Street Journal said China has been making measurable progress in this areas.
The report found that China’s ecosystems have become more resilient against disasters like sandstorms and flooding. Since 2000, China has spent around 150 billion US dollars restoring natural habitats such as forests and grasslands. It is the world’s largest government-backed effort of this kind. Figures show that 22 per cent of China is covered by forest, an increas of one point three per cent from 2008.
Data was collected by a team of 3000 Chinese scientists using remote sensing technology. The report was compiled by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Minnesota, among other institutions.
