越来越多的中国品牌开拓海外市场
The 120th session of China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, is underway in South China’s Guangzhou city. Over 24,000 exhibitors are participating in it. Six decades since its launch, the fair has witnessed the development of a great many Chinese brands, helping them expand their overseas reach.
Being held twice a year since 1957, the Canton Fair has become a hot place for trading in China. Huo Jinxiang works in a local ceramic tile company in Guangdong. His company has been part of the fair for 16 years, and has seen exports grow significantly.
"The deals signed at the fair twice a year accounts for half of our annual exports," said Huo Jinxian.
Founded in 1990, the company now has customers in the US and India. Its exports account for a quarter of total sales. It has also built nine production bases across China.
60 years since its launch, the Canton Fair has become one of the most popular trade fairs in China for domestic brands to explore overseas markets. Tens of thousands of exhibitors come here looking for business opportunities.
International buyers keep flocking to the fair.
"This is the sixth year that I come to Canton fair, every time there’s something new. China develops very fast so it’s good for us to come here to see what’s new. It’s very important for us to be here," said Jorge Gaidzinski Carneiro, Brazilian buyer in China Import & Export Fair.
"This is my first time to the trade fair, I knew it’s very big. I come here and I think it meets the expectation," said Jideofor Ahaneku, Nigerian buyer in China Import & Export Fair.
For the past six decades, the fair has attracted over seven million buyers from overseas.
"We invite global buyers to come. Now many Chinese brands have good reputations not just because of low prices, but for quality and innovation," said Xu Bing, spokesman of China Import & Export Fair.
The trade volume at the last session of the fair stood at 30 billion US dollars. A similar result is expected this time around.
