a 和 an 的区别

若名词或名词前面的修饰词以元音开头，用 an，其余情况用 a。如：

A new car is much more expensive than an old car. 新车比旧车贵得多。

Luck plays an important part in many card games. 在许多纸牌游戏中，运气是很重要的。

注意：

■以元音开头的字母以及以元音开头的字母缩略语(如 a, e, f, h, i, l, m, n, o, r, s, x, SOS, MBA 等)前若用不定冠词，用 an 不用 a。如：

You missed an “i” in the word “skiing”. 你在 skiing 这个单词中漏写了一个字母 i。

■有些单词虽以元音字母开头，但其读音为辅音；相反，有些单词虽以辅音字母开头，但其读音却是元音。如：

He is an honest businessman. 他是个诚实的商人。

She has one-year-old son. 他有一个1岁的儿子。
